Does Florida Drug Rehab Provide Individualized Treatment?

Many people think that going to drug rehab is just a place where addicts are lumped together and are all given the same therapy and treatment for their problems for a month and then they will be “all better”. Quite the contrary, actually. In order for a drug rehab program to be successful and helpful, it needs to address a person’s issues specifically. Each person is unique – just because the people who go to drug rehab all have an addiction in common, that does not mean that they all became addicted for the same reasons. We are asked many times about the treatment facilities they work with such as, “Does Florida drug rehab provide individualized treatment?”

The answer is yes, Florida drug rehab provides individualized treatment and care for those who go in for addiction treatment. While the treatment programs are along the same lines, each person’s plan and path to recovery is not the same. Some people have other issues and they will receive dual diagnosis treatment – this is when a person has an addiction and a mental health issue. People who go to Florida drug rehabs will be placed in the appropriate therapy groups and be provided with the appropriate forms of treatment that is applicable to their situation. This is really the only way to address that person’s addiction properly.

A person who goes into Florida drug rehab will also be provided with individual counseling to help uncover and address underlying issues that caused the addiction in the first place. Coping mechanisms will be learned, according to that person’s personality – again, not all people are the same. Florida drug rehabs are well experienced in planning out and assessing a path to recovery that is based on a person’s individual needs to give the best possible outcome.

You might think that using the twelve step method is the only thing that a person does when they go to a Florida drug rehab – but that is a very incorrect assumption. The twelve steps are combined with many other treatment methods to create an entire plan that helps a person get to recovery as the program comes to an end. And recovery is an ongoing process – there is follow up care that needs to happen – and even then the programs are based on the individual. This may include further individual or group counseling, regular NA or AA meetings and other forms of continued therapy.
